Mike has been running America's first and longest-running National Security investment strategy since June 2016.
Prior to founding Strider Capital in December 2020, Mike was a Managing Director and the top performing Portfolio Manager at American Capital Management (ACM). He co-managed the firm's largest portfolio ($1 billion+), was a partner on the institutional account investment team, and sole-managed the strategy that is now Strider Capital.
Prior to ACM, Mike served in Morgan Stanley's Technology Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets groups. He holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an infantry platoon leader in Afghanistan's Kunar Valley, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Mike has spent extensive time embedded with robotics teams on the front lines of the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Gaza Wars studying the effects of modern technologies on the battlefield and has 11 war-zone trips between Ukraine, Israel, and Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Special Forces, Sensitive Activities instructor at Joint Special Ops University; 21 years service
Before Strider Capital, DeVan was the lead Sensitive Activities Instructor at the Joint Special Operations University designing and teaching curriculum on the use of Sensitive Activities in campaigns against peer competitors in the gray zone.
He is a doctoral candidate in Military History at the National University of Singapore focusing on military observers in international conflict. DeVan is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel with 21 years of service, 17 in Special Forces where he held key leadership and staff roles from Detachment Commander through positions at each level up to Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Headquarters.
He served in numerous combat and advisor positions across Asia and the Middle East and has made multiple trips to the front lines of the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Gaza Wars.

Jonathan Lavy has spent the last 25 years as an institutional investor. In his role at Strider Capital, Jonathan has travelled with the investment team to conduct due diligence on war zone technologies in Ukraine during the Ukraine-Russia War.
Most recently, he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager in Glenmede's Endowments and Foundations group, overseeing manager selection and portfolio construction at a $10B OCIO and trustee to the Pew Charitable Trusts. At Glenmede, Jonathan underwrote over 25 new investments, including many seed and early stage commitments to managers.
Together with the CIO, he co-managed two OCIO model portfolios and two hedge fund-of-funds. Prior to Glenmede, Jonathan was Director of Investments at the American Red Cross for four years. At the ARC, he was responsible for sourcing and underwriting investments for a $1 billion endowment and a $2 billion defined benefit pension.
Jonathan began his career at General Motors Asset Management, rising to Portfolio Manager. As an early member of the Absolute Return Strategies group, he helped expand the hedge fund allocation from 1% to 7.5% of the Defined Benefit Plan, grew the team from 3 to 10, and outperformed the benchmark by over 3%. Additionally, he managed Broad Scope Mandates, utilizing derivatives overlays, defensive strategies, and risk parity frameworks to mitigate funded status volatility. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College, earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2006, and serves on the Investment Committee of his alma mater, Regis High School.

He was subsequently assigned to 3rd Infantry Division in Kitzingen, Germany. CSM Shorter volunteered for Special Forces training and graduated the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1992. He was then assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (A) at Fort Lewis, Washington.
During the following 23 years, he held the positions of Junior Medical NCO, Senior Medical NCO, Team Sergeant, and HSC First Sergeant. Brent was formerly the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Tradewind Technologies, a cybersecurity training company that prepared members of the Special Operations and Intelligence Communities for deployment to hostile environments.
Previous to his 13 years with Tradewind, Brent was a Senior Client Services Manager at SNL Financial, where he managed a book of client relationships spanning large institutional and multinational financial services firms.
Brent began his professional career as an officer in the U.S. Navy SEALs. While on active duty, he served with Navy SEAL Team Two, Special Boat Unit 20, and is a plankowner of SEAL Team 10. Across three deployments to Europe and North Africa, he led operations in support of the NATO Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina and advised allied and partner forces.
Brent received his B.S. in Engineering Science and MBA from the University of Florida, where he participated in Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps. He serves as a Commander in the Florida State Guard Special Mission Unit.

As the China-based CFO at Optiver, a leading global market maker with approximately $5 billion in trading revenue, she spent nearly a decade partnering with local CEOs to build the firm's China operations and scale its trading business.
Prior to Optiver, Sally was the Regional Head of Product Control in Emerging Markets, Credit, Structured Products, and Commodities for Credit Suisse in Singapore.
Earlier in her career, Sally held roles at Goldman Sachs across New York, Tokyo, and Shanghai, and Lehman Brothers in Tokyo.

At Bassett, he leveraged AI and machine learning to transform complex electronic health records and claims data into actionable insights that improved patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Prior to Bassett, Ted worked as a portfolio manager at General Motors pension fund where he managed an internal $6 billion systematic global macro hedge fund that traded equities, fixed income, and foreign currencies.
He also applied his modeling and derivatives trading expertise to optimize and implement an Asset Liability Matching strategy. Ted started his professional career working in radiation safety at the Department of Energy Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He still proudly displays his UC609 tritium shipping container certification.
Ted has a BS in Biology, concentrating in Genetics with a minor in Statistics from Cornell and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon with concentrations in Finance, Operations, and Strategy. Ted serves as an elected Town Supervisor in upstate New York.
